I decided that I wanted to be a piano teacher when I was 12 years old.   I began teaching as a high school student, as an apprentice to my teacher, Myrna Eppeland, of St. James, MN.  Later, I studied piano performance with Dr. William Phemister, and piano pedagogy with Dr. Karin Redekopp Edwards at Wheaton Conservatory of Music in IL.  I graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Music (piano performance) with Elective Studies in Business.  Though I love to play piano, teaching is my real passion.
